Climate & The Land: Awaken, Stone!
‘Climate & the Land: Awaken, Stone!’ activated the geological record in PSQT’s Living Land Archive, with two site-specific performances, bringing together visual arts and landscape choreography. culptural fossil masks cast in stone dust made by artist Eva Titherington, local dancers from Stromatic Dance and choreographer Oliver Robertson (James Wilton Dance). Taking place on two sites, Coastwatch Portland Bill and the Memory Stones at the entrance of Tout Quarry, the performances animated the geological timeline, layering landscapes past and present, fossil and human form, with sound composed from the audiovisual archive held at PSQT.
The masks can be seen at the Drill Hall, Easton Lane, Portland, where they are on display.
