The Drill Hall Gallery and Stone Workshop - provides a centre for working with all aspects of stone within Portland's Quarry Park. Facilities provide a gallery space of 4,000 square feet, for visual and performing arts, to show new work in the gallery and environment, during next year’s cultural events for the Olympics and beyond.

BRIEF ARTIST STATEMENT
During a 3 months artist residency with PSQT, working with artist Hannah Sofaer who has developed a living land archive resource that addresses research in the context of the landscape, environment, science and industry, and during a stone carving course, Cristina was involved in a process where the stone and its landscape opened a new way to develop ideas in relation to installation and the use of new media, inside and outside.
Developing a project, Paisajes Anhelados, ( Longed for Landscapes ) on the global consciousness of Earth and Nature, through stone as material and through the landscape of the Portland environment and its stone industry.
The residency opens a relationship between two sea shores, the Cantabric of Asturias in Spain and the English Channel in Portland.
