Community Stone Workspace
 |
Portland Sculpture and Quarry Trust exhibited at the Natural Stone Show in March 2011, with work from its summer stone carving courses and launched the 'Community Stone Workspace' project at the Drill Hall. The workspace is planned to open in Spring 2012 and will be well equipped, with temporary accommodation attached in the former Drill Hall house. There is also an exhibition space where artists, stone masons and carvers can show their work connected to an Outdoor Carving Terrace. If you are interested in booking the Community Stone Workspace and/or Drill Hall Gallery Space please contact the Trust via the contact page.
Prototypes made by the community were shown from the Drill Hall Gallery including water features and fire-places, promoting interest in commissions for the newly refurbished Stone Workspace. This is a unique venue in the South West where artists, designers, stone masons and carvers, can create new work and exhibit - all within one facility.
