Disadvantaged young people at risk of offending have been encouraged to develop their abilities and find new personal direction and motivation within areas of opportunity provided by the PSQT workshop programme, which focuses their creative and design skills, helping to improve literacy and communication. The interdependency between the learning experience and contact with the landscape, with the support of professional staff working with PSQT, has proved to be a transformative experience for the young people coming into contact with the project. "…Young people have given very positive feed back on how the project is successfully engaging their participation, involvement and interest. A number of young people completed individual learning plans and attended regularly (beyond agreed time of reparation) and are taking a real interest in PSQT's project as well as learning and acquiring new skills". Sue Craxton, Youth Worker WYOT PSQT's work with young people at risk has included Youth from the South Dorset and Weymouth & Portland area, and included Weymouth Youth Offending Team, Sherborne Learning Centre, Blandford Learning Centre and HM Youth Offending Institution Portland supported through the Princes Trust. Interest in the continuation of these workshops has highlighted the need for extra staff and improved facilities in the Drill Hall for the courses to progress.
